In the field of development of locomotives, it was necessary to record live data while driving from a wide variety of sensors in conjunction with acceleration values and motion information at the same time. The data were intended for further storage for storage in the local database as well as for transmission via 4G cellular network.
The data of the different sensors are supplied via two RS485 Modbus interfaces, via two RS232 interfaces and also over 4..20mA sensors. Due to the connection length, both the RS485 and RS232 interfaces are isolated. The acceleration values are recorded via an integrated onboard sensor. The integrated gyroscope is available for recording the movement data. A particularly fast realization of the data acquisition could be done by the ready-to-use Node-RED system. The Modbus control as well as the acquisition of the GPS data is already integrated in it. The power supply is controlled via the integrated Powercontrol function. This ensures a controlled and safe shutdown of the system.
